PDF catalogs do not have to be printed to be useful. They are also good for online browsing. Tablets, computers, and even phones offer friendly ways of paging through PDFs. This is especially true for custom catalogs that showcase a narrow selection of products.

Say you want to create a custom brochure using Catalog-on-Demand. You intend to select just a few products. You don’t know whether the customer will print it or not. You need to decide whether to check the box that causes the QR code to appear in the publication. Is it worthwhile?

The answer is yes, you should still include the QR code. The reason is that QR codes made with Catalog-on-Demand are also clickable. If a user is looking at the PDF on their computer, they can click on the QR code with their mouse. That click will take them to the product page on your website. It works the same as if they scanned it.

Bottom line: The QR code is always a good idea. It works both off-line AND on-line.
