As you look around our site, you will many references to LayoutPaks. That is because LayoutPaks are the central component that makes Catalog-on-Demand so powerful. You can think of them as game cartridges for Catalog-on-Demand. Each LayoutPak is a smart template that takes structured data and automatically turns that data into a custom brochure, catalog, or flyer. Choosing one is nothing more than a mouse click. You don’t need to know anything about publishing in order to use a LayoutPak.
Our first LayoutPaks are focused on creating publications that feature product information. They are intended for use by any business that offers an array of products or services.
Each LayoutPak is intended for producing a particular style of document. The LayoutPak combines design elements, styles, layout guidelines, product data, product images, contact information, and other data to automatically create a publication with a unique “look”. If you run multiple jobs with the same data but different LayoutPaks, each job will produce a custom publication that has a different appearance.
Eventually we will also be creating LayoutPaks for travel, real estate, consulting, and many other kinds of businesses. Subscribe to this blog for announcements!
For fun, we are naming all of our LayoutPaks after trees and shrubs. The first two are called Pistachio and Madrona. We’ll be writing more about each of these soon. Pistachio offers the most efficient way to place product information on the fewest number of pages. It has very powerful personalization features. Madrona is more stylized and visually appealing, but not as space-efficient as Pistachio. Many more LayoutPaks are in the works. Stay tuned!
